After CM Punk quit, several wrestlers, including MJF and Samoa Joespoke about the unity that exists in the AEW locker room, which Orange Cassidy recently spoke positively about.
Cassidy discusses backstage dynamics in AEW “A shaky experience“The podcast explains how everyone can help each other, but there’s also some healthy competition among celebrities.
“To me, in the locker room, when we’re walking around, we all want to do our best, and I feel like in AEW, we’re trying to foster a philosophy of, ‘We should help each other and do our best.'” It’s competitive, but I feel like it’s healthy competition,” Cassidy said.
The former AEW International Champion said that when he sees his peers putting on great matches, he will be motivated to do better. Cassidy believes the current atmosphere backstage is positive, thanks in part to healthy competition.
“It also helps me do my best [watching others wrestle in AEW]. I don’t think this should be a [case of]‘I want to get to the top, so I’ll step on you to get there,’ but I think it should be, ‘I want to get to the top, but we should help each other climb the ladder to get there,’” he said. “It’s a healthy competition of, ‘I want the best performance or the best game. I feel like it’s a positive place right now.
Cassidy said he might be intimidated when he sees wrestlers like Kenny Omega or Will Osprey put on incredible matches, but he feels like every star in AEW All bring something unique to the table, and that’s his goal. He also noted that there are several young wrestlers on the AEW roster who are dedicated to the promotion and eager to learn and grow.
