WEBTOON introduced that it’s teaming up with DJ and producer Slushii’s SONICdream artistic label on a brand new webcomic sequence titled Sapient Dream. The webcomic will debut solely on the English-language platform on July 6, 2025. 

The unique “shonen motion” science fiction webcomic is created by Julian Scanlan (the true title of Slushii) and anime producer Rob Pereyda, with manufacturing being credited to Merryweather Media. 

Sapient Dream is described as a piece that builds off of Slushii’s hit track, “Previous Lives.” which has amassed over 16 billion streams on TikTok and YouTube. Every webcomic episode will function brand-new immersive music overlays created only for WEBTOON that interaction with Slushii’s upcoming Chrysalis album. 

Slushii and WEBTOON may even be current at Anime Expo 2025 for a joint panel look about Sapient Dream, a meet & greet on the WEBTOON Sales space (Leisure Corridor E-90), and a particular Anime Expo live performance.

WEBTOON describes the principle synopsis of Sapient Dream as: 

Sapient Dream follows Kuro, a seemingly common excessive schooler affected by vivid, surreal desires. When he rescues a mysterious alien sludge monster, Kuro is thrust right into a galaxy-spanning battle towards darkish forces that threaten his actuality — and his id. As Kuro unlocks sudden powers and types unlikely alliances, he should confront the nightmare that connects his desires to the destiny of the universe.
